Reading Buddies/Book Worms
Reading partners are needed to help young students improve their reading skills. One hour a week in a pre-school or early elementary classroom. Hamilton County schools and Webster County Schools
BASE Senior Fitness Exercise Leaders
BASE Senior Fitness Classes are continuing to grow. RSVP will train volunteers to lead exercise classes or to substitute for current leaders.
BASE Senior Fitness Exercise Leader
Southfield Nursing and Rehabilitation in Webster City will need a temporary BASE leader to lead the group in the Assisted Living facility, December through February. New leaders will be trained.
Nursing Home Buddies
Nursing homes are looking for volunteers to spend time with residents, reading, chatting, singing, or playing a game. 1 hr./wk. any day of the week,3:40-4:40pm.
Winter Weatherization
Plans are being made for Winter Weatherization to be offered to needy families in both Webster and Hamilton Counties. Volunteers are needed to audit the homes, package materials for the homes, and to lead teams on the day of the weatherization work. Weatherization services include putting plastic on windows, weather stripping, installing draft dodgers on doors, new furnace filters, and gaskets in outlets and switch plates.
Daycare Helper
Northeast Hamilton Elementary in Blairsburg has a need in their Mighty Trojan Daycare to assist the daycare workers in holding and feeding babies in the infant room.
Community and Family Resources
Volunteers are needed to put labels on brochures. Labeling can be done from home. Community and Family Resources helps people with addiction to drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and gambling.
