A
great giver in life, R. Ann Herriott was an active RSVP volunteer
for 9 years and a committed RSVP Advisory Council member from
2000 to 2003.
As an RSVP volunteer, Ann served over 500 hours assisting 8 different
agencies in need of her help. As an RSVP Advisory Council member,
Ann not only served as Chair of the Council, but also helped plan
and assist with multiple recognition and fund-raising events.
Sadly,
Ann passed away in October, 2008. It is with deep respect and
gratitude that Central Iowa RSVP acknowledges Ann for the financial
bequest she left to RSVP in her death. We are privileged that
we had an opportunity to get to know Ann, and that she chose to
recognize RSVP for the role that it played in her retirement.
As
a tribute to Ann's generosity and in her memory, RSVP has started
the Ann Herriott Legacy Fund, a special account that will be available
to support special needs that arise for RSVP. This fund will be
used discretely to assist with impact-based volunteer project
costs or provide benefits to RSVP volunteers that are not part
of the general operating budget.
For
information on how you can help the Ann Herriott Legacy Fund grow,
contact Kalen Petersen, Central Iowa RSVP Director.
