Seniors Against Investment Fraud

Unfortunately, seniors are a prime target of con artists.  To stem the tide of increasing numbers of seniors being defrauded, the Iowa Insurance Division created a program called Seniors Against Investment Fraud (SAIF) for the primary purpose of educating Iowans over the age of 50 about investment fraud and how to avoid being victimized.  The SAIF program is being funded by fines paid by national brokerage firms who violated securities law.

The Iowa Insurance Division is partnering with the Central Iowa Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) to help educate seniors about investments.  Trained senior volunteers are available to present information to senior groups on how to protect themselves against fraud and scams.
